Default Crank but no start

I need some help guys! I have a 1998 Blazer and it cranks but no start. Here is the catcher, when you take jumper cables to it and hook it to the battery and hook them up to another car and wait a second it starts up. I’ve had the alternator tested and it was fine. It also has a newer battery. I’ve also replaced the fuel filter.

Have you separately charged the battery to make sure it is fully charged? Perhaps have you swapped the batteries?

Well when you're cranking to start, you have 12 volts or less. When you crank while hooked to another running vehicle, you have close to 14 volts available. MAYBE if you have a failing fuel pump, the extra voltage is enough to give it the extra couple of psi fuel pressure needed to start? Will your truck start with quick start sprayed in the throttle body? Are you able to test your fuel pressure? Maybe turn the ignition on and off a couple of times, letting the fuel pump prime a few times to build up pressure, and then see if it will start on its own. Good luck!

you might want to start your own thread if you continue to have problems... I’d say maybe a frozen fuel line if it started when warmed up. Not a lot of details given to help troubleshoot.
