Default Cruise control problem

Hey, i just joined the forum and i bought a 2001 4dr Chev Blazer. I was driving on the highway the other day using cruise control at about 65 mph and tried out the accelerator cruise feature when the cruise stopped working. I thought i heard a kind of pop, kind of like a fuse blowing, so i didnt think much of it. I went out today to check the fuse and the fuse is fine?? does anyone know whats going on? also, i wasnt sure if it was normal on my cruise lever but the set button is somewhat recessed into the end of the lever and i didnt know if they were supposed to be flush.

The very same thing happened to me today.I haven't had time to look at it yet. I also heard a pop. I checked the fuse and it was good. I was hoping to get some ideas of what to check!
