Default Cylinder Heads

I recently bought a 99 Blazer that was leaking coolant into one of the cylinders so I opened up the engine and one of the heads is cracked. The problem is there was some shady mechanics going on and it has two different heads with different style rockers. I searched forever and couldnt find which one my truck is actually supposed to have on it. Does anyone know the difference between heads with the casting numbers 113 and 114? Or if I need screw in rocker studs or bolt down rockers? Thanks in advance.

AFAIK 1999 should have the stamped steel rockers with rocker studs and rocker ***** - while 2001 should have the bolt-down roller rockers. I believe 2000 was the year where you might find either one.

Not only thu out the years but by doing a little research on them they were built in at least two different plants, and each plant had their own style and adaptations to the block and engine

Not to get off topic, but this reminds me of when I worked for Advance Auto Parts years back. We'd have guys come in needing parts for their mud truck or what ever they had and say the needed such and such part for their Chevy 350. I'd ask them "what year?". They just look at me with a dumb look on their face and say "don't matter, they're all the same"... Oh okay you need a lifter for you 350, I'll grab you a flat tappet for you roller Votec then...

Staying with the off subject for a second - I know I'm old and old school but I miss the days when a small block Chevy was 265 - 283 - 327 and last but not least a 350 and everything from the oil pan clear thu to the air cleaner lid was 100% interchangeable
I apologize for hijacking the thread but couldn't resist

May be helpful. Good overview until about 1998 - 2000 engines.
