Rocker Arms.....
#1
So i have a friend swapping his rocker arms his 2.2 s10 and he is really pushing me to do the same. He found this kit COMP Cams RPR201-12 - COMP Cams Magnum Rocker Arm Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com and told me i should do it. However i am not 100% on the workings of engines. Will these fit?
searching the forum i saw this by [B]bigringtravis[B]:
Roller rockers are considered "adjustable valvetrain." Vortex 4.3s (and many other newer engines) have non adjustable valvetrain. So to run roller rockers of any ratio, you need to get the heads machined to accept them.
Its that accurate? and does it even apply do doing something like this kit?
School me on it guys

I'm not too sure what the '95's have for rockers, but the newer motors use net lash setups that are not adjustable. They have a bolt that is drawn down tight & torqued in place to hold the rocker. If that is the setup you have in your truck, you would need to have your heads machined to accept screw in studs.

I found these:
Two styles of rocker studs were used on the 4.3L engine. Since teh "screw in" style with postive stop shoulders is most common, thats probably the reason why you got those instructions. However, some heads still used the older style "press in" studs, which require the manual adjustment.
-or-
1992 to 1995 Vortecs ALL used a net lash system with screw in studs and self aligning rockers
but still unsure, any more insight in that brilliant mind?

Just looked up the article Rebuilding the Chevy 262 by Doug Anderson and the net lash rockers came in full use in '95 so you'll have the bolt in rockers.
