Suprised nobody else has noticed you put 3.1 v6..


You have a 4.3 v6. thats all the early 2nd gen blazers came with.

Yeah, I meant to mention that too, but apparently left that bit out. Whoops.

So an update:

After going through the suggestions, and starting with taking out the Thermostat, we discovered that it was Frozen shut. So that solved the overheating issue. We flushed the system till it ran clear, but have not put in the Flush cleaner yet. I'm going to run it till saturday with just water and antifreeze to see if more of that gunk gets knocked loose.
Then I'm going to drain it, flush it, drain it again, and use the flush cleaner(couldnt get Peak, az was all out, but I did get some flush cleaner). then drain it again and fill with coolant and water.
