Default differentiate what transfer case I have

Hey guys,

I have a 1979 blazer, and I'm trying to figure out which transfer case I have. I have a saginaw 3 speed manual transmission, but both the np205 and dana20 transfer case were used that year. How can I figure out which one I have?

the np205 should have a plate on the backside of it saying what it is if its still there, i think most dana's did the same thing. if you can take a picture of it and post it im sure someone will know it is. i know what a 205 looks like, not sure on the dana transfer cases though

NP205 t-case is a chain drive, big ole cast iron thing. Mostly used with Automatics. it has 2 6-bolt covers on the back side of it. one has the output shaft coming out of it. the other is just a cover. i also has a single shift lever on it.
Dana 20 is a smaller gear drive cast iron unit. it has a single 4 bolt cover on the backside. it has two shift rails that attach to a single plate at the shifter. Mostly used with the stick shifts

Default found it

After a solid amount of brake cleaner fluid once I had pulled off the transfer case, I found the casting number. It was a NP205. Thanks guys!
