Distributor installation
Hi, I have a 2003 blazer 4dr while trying to replace a spark plug wire my distributor mounting points snapped. I went and bought a new distributor and cannot install it timed properly. I've tried every technique and tip I've found online but I just can't get it to line up with the 6 when cylinder 1 is at tdc. I'll have every notch and mark lined up properly but when I drop it in there it won't line up with the 6. Any help is appreciated

See if this is of any help

I've always just made note of the direction the rotor was facing when I removed it and made sure to install it with the rotor pointing the same direction upon reinstallation. Most run into issues with this if they remove the distributor and then turn the motor over without it installed... That's when the finding #1 TDC on the compression stroke is necessary...

You may have to turn the oil pump shaft with a huge screwdriver to get the distributor to drop down all the way where you want it. Don't forget about the helical gears will turn rotor as you drop it in.
