Default E-rod motor into 89 or older blazer

Anyone attempt this yet? It would only make sense if you live in California as its a smog legal swap. And of course its lots of money.

Don't think it's been done on here that I know of. I think it's cheaper to go with a regular LS1. But do it. From what I've read it's a drop in and splice some wires to get to get good power without the smog police hassle.

Right, the Ls1 would be the ticket if it wasn't for the smog stuff. I'm looking into possible issues with the transfer case, the connection to the trans (700r4) etc. I know they make kits to move some of this stuff. I just need to do a little more research to make it happen.

A 700r4 will bolt up however you leave out the top bolt. PacePerformance.com has the cheapest adaptor kit that I've found so far. Somcething like $130 for the SFI rated flex plate and the torque converter spacer/adaptor.

Thankyou. Appreciate your insight on this. Checked out Pace Performance as you suggested. Sounds as if you may have worked on a project such as this. Any thoughts as to how the motor would mount up in relation to the stock mounts?

Looks like I spoke to soon. It appears Pace has these kits as well.
