EGR question im lost

I just boughta 96 black with a blowen motor soo i pick on up today outta a 2000 jimmy everything is the same pretty much but my question is the motor outta the 2000 hadd no EGR does this make any diff

A motor from a 2000 has provisions for an EGR. Only the about mid year 2002 and later trucks do not have the EGR valve.

is it in a diff spot then mines right in the fromt of the motor and this one has nothing not even that tube going from the intake to the header

Then the motor was not out of a 2000 originally. The 96 through mid-02 SCFI motors have it right up in front between the alternator and the A/C compressor.
