Engine blockheater question

ok soo i put a motor in my 96 blazer the motor is outta a 2000 blazer now my question is im going to alberta where it can get to -30 and like -35-40 with windchill but my new motor has no block heater would i have any probs with freezing..Im just visit friends thanks for you time

you shouldnt have any problem...I live in Edmonton AB and leave mine outside all the time. My Block Heater Cord is actually still nicely wrapped up inside my engine bay. So as an answer to your Question. you wont have any problems. If you wanna do something drop a bottle of gas line anti freeze in the tank when you get here.

ok thanks i was thinkin about gettin one of those heaters that attach to the coolent line just to keep it a bit warmer

You just have to make sure that your coolant mix is appropriate for that level of cold. Test the coolant and adjust accordingly.

A block heater will make it easier to start, but being a modern fuel injected engine, that is not too much of a problem.
