My blazer just threw a pending code p1683 cant seem to find a straight answer for what it is would anybody happen to know? thanks Mike

 

It's a code for a malfunction in the PCM. You'll have to replace it and have the new one programmed :/

 

thanks i kinda figured it had something to do with the pcm, guess my next question would be if i took one out of a 2002 4 door blazer would it still need to be reprogrammed? i have a 2002 4 door

 

Yes it does. you could send it to PCMFORLESS.com and get a performance tune. They can also delete the stupid factory security system. I had mine done by them and am very happy

 

Well because I moved the computer to take out and check my coolant tank figured i should clean the contacts on the computer , then had it checked they say it is fine no issues.. been a week and no code ,So figure I will drive it . Running great so will continue to monitor it almost at the 400 thousand mark..
