Hey guys, my 94 Jimmy with the 4.3 vortec has a pretty small oil leak but I still have to keep a piece of plywood under the truck to avoid staining my driveway. I've seen a bunch of oil additives that claim to stop engine oil leaks at auto parts stores so I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to try one of these. Thanks!

Well the stop leak additives are just a Bandaid. There are some additives that do prolong the repair, but its just a matter of time You are going to have to do the repair to correct the Problem. It is the rear main seal I guess ?

Clean you engine and pin point the source of the leak. It may be something quick and easy...

Could just be the remote oil filter lines - they tend to leak at the crimps.
x2 on fixing the problem instead of adding mechanic in a bottle.

I agree with fixing it instead of pouring something in it. If it sops the leak, what else is it stopping up too?
