so first time doing this, i don't know if you guys will be able to help or not. I replaced the fan clutch on my 2004 chevy blazer because i took to a shop and the supposedly pressure checked the radiator and other parts of the cooling system and said everything was ok the reason your car is over heating is because of your fan clutch. well replacing it did not work i am waiting on a thermostat to see if that helps. please help. i dont have alot of cash to take to 5 different places or fix 7 things to find the one problem.

Your radiator is more than likely filled half way up with sediment. To check this is easy well somewhat easy if you can remove your fan shroud. What you need to do is remove enough stuff to where you can put your hand on the radiator and feel how hot it is. Start the vehicle and warm it up a little, once the engine is warmed up shut the engine off and start feeling the radiator from top to bottom be careful not to burn your self but if the radiator is plugged you will notice a big temperature change. Usually, the bottom of the radiator will be cold and the top will be hot which means you have a plugged radiator full of sediment. If the radiator feels the same temperature all over then its ok and not your problem.

 

thanks yeah it is the radiator i felt the top hot enough to burn you but the bottom was cold . can you flush it out or do you have to replace it.

 

Glad you figured it out.
You could try and flush it but I have never had much luck doing that, I always get another one, I usually get new but you could chance a salvage yard one I have got lucky a couple times.
