Default engine problems

i bought a 1984 k5 blazer off of my cousin. he told me a mechanic said he blew a rod in the motor. i just took off the oil pan to look and see if i could see anything. the oil pan had a hole the size of a quarter on one side a a dime sized hole on the other side. also all of the anti-freeze came out through the oil pan. I think that one of the main caps broke off causing the holes because it was laying in the bottom of the oil pan with a couple of screws but im not sure about the anti-freeze. MY questions are should i be looking for a new motor or is there a possibility this block could be rebuilt? if the rod had shot threw the oil pan would it be hanging down? thanks and any suggestions are appreciated

I'd be looking for a replacement motor. If the coolant was lost through the oil pan, the block is likely damaged.
