Check your "ignition control module" inside your distributer, you can take it out and have it tested at your local auto parts store. I've owned GMs all my life, and I always keep an extra in every rig, cause they can go out without warning. the last time it happend to me, I was on the freeway and I slapped a new one in, In about 5 minutes, and was on my way. If it is bad, dont cheap out on the parts, it sucks being stranded! Good Luck!

Just because you hear the pump doesn't mean it is pumping the required 60 PSI. You need to check the fuel pressure. From everyone I have seen or heard if you can hear it, it is either BAD or GOING OUT.
