The engine of my 2001 chevy blazer shakes and sounds terrible as soon as I turn it on. Sometimes it's not so bad others it's heart breaking. I haven't driven it really since my old man left it to me but I'm tyring to get it going now, I drive it around my (block) around my property, and by the time I got back it was still shaking. The whole drive the check engine light was either on or blinking or off at different points of the trip. Mostly blinking. And the other instruments on the cluster went haywire one at a time. Shaking back and forth or flipping to the end and back, it was wierd for sure. But when I got back I checked the oil thinking it may need some but the fill line was covered very lightly so I thought it was fine. But the dipstick hole had smoke coming from it and also there was metal shaving on the end of the dipstick. So I let it cool down and went to Check the dipstick again and it seemed like the oil that was there was diluted, as a clear substance dripped down my finger leaving some black specks where I wiped it. Anyways I drained the oil and it looked greenish and smelled like gas so I didn't know what to think. In the past I drove it one time. To a little town about 15km away, on the way back after filling the tank it broke down and I couldn't get it going so I had to get towed home, it sat for about 3 months of everyone at the farm tinkering trying to get it going , ended up replacing the distributor cap to no avail, then one day i crawled under and noticed that everything was caked in oily dirt accept 1 thing was shiny and new. A clip had came out so I plugged it back in and sure enough it started up I'm pretty sure was the crank shift censor, I think my dad or someone replaced it maybe but it's been shaking like crazy and I don't know what to do, any suggestions? You need to do a fuel pressure leak down test and a compression test. When it runs do you hear knocking noises from the engine?

I uploaded a audio clip so you can hear for yourself, to me it sound like somethings amis with the serpentine belt area and maybe the engine mounts are loose, any thoughts?

 

That engine sounds pretty rough but I dont think I here rod knock and or evidence of a spun bearing but you still need to find out why you have metal shavings and gas in the oil so that needs to be addressed first, hence my suggestion in my initial response.
