Default Low Oil Pressure, Service Engine Light

So I was driving my 2001 Chevy Blazer LS 4X4 about 20 minutes ago and the "Service Engine Soon" light came on. At first I didn't notice why it was on then after inspecting the gauges I noticed that the oil pressure, usually just below the half way line at idle, was sitting at the first line at idle. As I was accelerating at 2,000 RPM's, yes slow acceleration because I didn't want to mess up the engine anymore, the PSI reading gradually rose to just below the halfway mark where it stayed as I cruised along at 55mph. Then as soon as I got home I pulled it in the garage popped the hood with the engine still running and tried to listen for any strange noises coming from the engine, but sounded normal. I inspected the ground beneath the vehicle to check for any leaks but there was no fluids on the garage floor. Then I checked the oil and it has normal oil level. Please help this is my daily commute vehicle and would rather fix now before I break down somewhere.
