It could be. How would I check that?

are you able to pinpoint which side of the engine the ticking is coming from?

I've tried to but its difficult because i cant reproduce it in the parking lot. It only ticks when I'm moving. It seems like its coming from the left side but I can't be certain

As stated, check for PCV valve noise. More specifically, check to see if the throttle/cruise cables are resting against or are even just close to the vacuum line that runs to the PCV valve in the driver side valve cover. Sometimes with an older vehicle, the motor mounts can have a bit more movement to them and it can cause these cables to come in contact with each other which will allow the noise from the PCV valve to be transmitted to the firewall where it is somewhat amplified. Typically the noise just blends in with the rest of the engine noises.
