Unhappy Engine Won't Start

Hey everybody, I recently bought a 2000 Chevy trailblazer from a friend, it is in good shape except for the fact that the intake manifold gasket went and needed to be replaced. This was my first time doing a repair of this size but I had a lot of help. Now that the engine is back together it will crank but not start, a couple of times it sounded like it was very close but it would not completely turn over. I've tried some quick start and triple checked all of my electrical connections and hoses. I'm really excited to get it running and would really appreciate any advice on how to proceed.

scan for codes, see if the distributor is not lined up properly. also ive seen intake gaskets get so bad filling up the cylinders with oil/antifreeze and fouling out the plugs. so it might just need new plugs
