Default Exhaust repair help

My exhaust rusted out right before the muffler, and then entire pipe is broke off. It's a 2001 blazer. Does anyone have any tips on how to repair this? I have a welder, but I don't know if that will do well on a rusted exhaust. Is there any clamp on parts I can get to fix?

It broke off very close to the flange. So I may need to take off the bolts and get a new one. Any tips or help is much appreciated.

where that break is its just too thin to weld. my fix would be to cut like a inch of pipe off from the left of that picture, then just cut the flange off and throw it in the garbage. clean the metal with a wire wheel as best you can and find a piece of pipe thats going to barely slide over it or inside of the two and weld it together.

you can butt-weld a piece of pipe in there but thats a little harder to do

also the hardest part of welding exhaust is trying to get to the very top.

if you can find a really tight fitting pipe you can probably get away without welding period, maybe put some muffler cement in there and clamp it down
