Fan blades rubbing on shroud?
What would cause fan blades to start rubbing on the fan shroud on a 1993 Blazer s10 w/4.3L? This problem has been progressive, it started out only in revese when making a tight turn, then worked up to any time in reverse, and finally it was doing it in drive and park. Once it runs for a while and warms up this stops. I just loosened up the bolts between the top and bottom to try to give more room, was thinking of pitting something in-between to act as a spacer, then discovered the bolts on the bottom of the shroud which would be more of a pain than I have time for right now. I tightened the bolts back up and the rubbing seems to have stopped, well unless I push on the shroud to try to make it rub.
Any ideas of what could make this happen would be greatly appreciated.

It could be two things. First check to see if there are spacers inbetween the fan shroud halves. If those are there then it is probably your engine mounts. I had the same problem and had the change the mounts. It's a sucky job but the fan doesn't rub anymore.
Good luck!
