Fitting new injection spider

Gday guys n girls, Im fitting a new MPFI spider to my 99 LS Blazer 4x4 and the instructions that come with the new spider say the 'updated' mounting bracket is sold separately.
can we not use the original bracket? Are the brackets different?

I believe mine came with a new bracket but I can't remember if I used it or not.

Mine (AC-Delco) came with a new bracket and I did use it, but I can't remember if there was anything noticeably different about it.

I bought an AC-Delco from summit racing but it didn't come with a bracket. I'm in Australia and waited 5 weeks for it to arrive haha
guess I'm gonna see if it all fits using the original bracket...
