front diff

well i pulled the one off my parts blazer and found its no easy, quick job. had to remove the entire steering linkage to get it out as well as the obvious bolts and front driveshaft, and axleshafts. worst bolt is the one thats in the drivers side framerail, lost a socket inside the frame removing the bolt & had to cut a "window" in the frame to remove it. (was a snap-on, worth going after!) but even after i had all the bolts out & all the shafts off, the axle cable unhooked, it just didnt have enough clearance to come out until the steering linkage was compltely outta the way.

last time i did one i ended up just breaking off the bracket on the lower driverside and rewelding it back on, helps a bit then having to tear apart the passenger side to be able to swing that side in. now i remember why i cut off my entire front end when i bought my s10 and put a 10bolt axle up there

cut and weld x2
stupid, they could have made that bracket a bolt on style since the front diff mid shaft gear and thrust washers are weak and the vacuum actuator can wear and hold the 4wd half engaged causing the the washers to break
be patience
