First of all, quit using whatever you've been using that has torn it up already.
Second, loosen up the bracket that hold the filter to the frame. Some penetrating oil may help. Remove the line on the back that uses the nut/flare fitting. This way you can move the filter back and forth when it comes to removing the quick disconnect fitting.
Now, press in on the two tabs of the quick disconnect and move the filter back out of the fitting. Much easier than trying to move the fitting away from the filter. The fuel line doesn't have a lot of give in it.
And lastly, try to come up with a better screen name (said with tongue in cheek!).
Chuck...I could kiss you (metaphorically). Thirty seconds with the info from you and its done. Owe ya one bud!!

I know this tread is a couple years old, but, I'm having trouble with the line side of the filter. It's a bit rusty, I can't figure out what size wrench to use (16mm is too small and 17mm too big) and I my big meat hook hands don't fit well between the frame and whatever that rod is. Any suggestions or ideas.
