Fuel pressure regulator replacement

Default Fuel pressure regulator replacement

96 blazer 4x4 4.3 v6. cranks but doesnt start without starting fluid. runs great after started. i normally just shoot it it fluid to start it but its getting worse and taking more and more to start everytime. i have the new regulator but cannot find it on the engine for my life. where is it? and how do i replace it?

Start by doing a complete fuel pressure & leak down test. I'm betting that the pump isn't putting out the proper pressure so replacement of the FPR may not help.

The FPR itself is located off the back of the fuel injection spider inside the intake plenum. Replacement should only be considered after first properly diagnosing that as the problem.
