Exclamation Fuel pump issue?

1999 Chevy Blazer, 4.3 Vortec, Auto Trans, 4dr, 4WD, 195,xxx miles.

If I rev the engine after starting it, the tach needle will shake a bit instead of shooting to high rpms right away.

The vehicle starts and seems to idle fine when parked. If I put it in gear, and accelerate quickly (even when the engine is warm) it has little to no power. It will run higher rpms if I push the gas pedal to the floor, but takes about 10-15 seconds before reaching the higher rpms. The exhaust will sputter a few times but once it shifts it seems to run fine, other than what seems to be an occasional loss of power at random.

At speeds above 45mph, or when it shifts into 5th gear/overdrive, the engine will bog down until I give it enough gas to get it into passing gear. It rarely runs smooth when at a higher speed.

I was told the spark plugs were replaced recently, along with the wires. They appear to be okay, and don't have excessive carbon buildup or anything like that. EGR valve looks okay and moves freely. I replaced the fuel filter, distributer, and ran almost every brand of injector cleaner through it with no luck. Thinking it might be a fuel pump issue, fuel pressure regulator issue, or catalytic converter issue.

i was chasing my tail on a 99 with 131k miles just as you described and she would shut off warm and not start until cool....

check the fuel pressure mine ended up dropping 40 psi when warmed up it could be an early sign of a bad pump/filter but of course buy the 11 dollar filter before dropping the tank

I just recently replaced the fuel filter with a K&N from Amazon, certainly helped with acceleration but unfortunately it still isn't running right. I'm going to check the fuel pressure and see if I can come up with something
