Fuel pump issues
OK I have done some searching but did not see anything that would help me with my problem. Little background on my truck, it is an 88 s15 jimmy, fresh rebuilt 2.8 engine 800 miles in it. I was doing some running around the other day and when leaving my last stop I cranked it up started to back up and it died. tried to restart and all it would was turn over, no start. I pulled the breather off and took a sheet of paper and placed the corner under on of the injectors and cranked it over, no fuel on paper. I jumped on my phone and found a page that talked about the fuel pump test wire on the firewall (i was wondering what that was for), I had a piece of wire and ran it from that plug to the battery, truck cranked up and I drove to the parts house and got a new fuel pump relay. cured my problem so I thought, yesterday I got home from work and when I hopped back in to go somewhere the same thing happened, I swapped the fuel pump relay with another one that is under the hood and still nothing, put my wire on the test plug and to 12v and it ran. drive to the store and when I left i did not reconnect my jumper, no start, connected the jumper still no start. farted around with the wire making sure it was connected good, I finely got it to start and drove home, pulled jumper off and went to bed. next morning got in and it cranked right up.
Has anyone else had this problem before? open to all ideas.
Thanks,
Louis
