Default Fuel Pump Problem

well about a week ago my blazer just dies, its a 96 4dr 4x4, had it towed home and replaced the fule pump and now its getting no power at the pump. I traced the wires into the engine compartment it has power there. The fuse is good. Im thinking that maby the wires got cut or somthing. Before i go running new wires i was woundering if theres anything obvious that im overlooking?
