Default Fuel pump problems

My mechanic just put in the second fuel pump in a little over a year. I drive my 1996 S-10 less than 2000 miles a year. Is there something with the Blazers that causes a fuel pump problem? Is the mechanic getting to me? Has anyone else had this problem? If I have another fuel pump problem I'll replace it myself but I really don't have a good place to work on it. Thanks.

If you're not installing AC/Delco or Delphi pumps, then you are flirting with disaster.
