Default Full Size 4L60E Tranny Rebuild?

So my transmission actually did die yesterday.. lost 1st/Rev. I'm thinking about rebuilding it myself for the cost of parts, rather than taking it back to the shop and having them do it for $1400. It's a 4L60E out of my 94 Full Size Blazer. Anyone ever rebuilt one? Have any tips for easy removal from a full size?

removing it out of a fullsize will be easier then removing it out of a s10, pretty roomy under there. ive done plenty of these and really cant think of any real headaches.

if you have that weird range sensor on the driverside of the transmission with two electrical connections going into the front side of it. you need to heat it up with a heatgun in order to unplug them, theres some kinda glue in there. other then that one step at a time
