gear shifter indicator light out

gear shifter indicator light out
I just had a reman engine installed in my 2000 blazer. Now the position light on my cluster that shows what gear I am in no longer lights up. All other indicators and lights work fine.
Could this just simply be an electrical connection issue w/ the tranny?
Any help would be appreciated.

This likely is not a fault of the transmission connections. This is typically a problem with the cluster itself. If you remove the cluster, take a look at the solder joints on the back side of the circuit board. These joints have been known to crack and cause the issues you are experiencing.

Honestly, I doubt I'll be tearing my dash apart for this one. This must just be an unfortunate coincidence, because it was working before the engine was installed.
