gmc jimmy engine knock
Ok so i own a 2001 gmc jimmy sls 2 door 4.3 and about 3000 miles ago i noticed a noticeable knock coming from the motor. I investigated further and realized that the knock would only start when the motor is completely warmed up-the warmer it gets the louder it gets. It will do it from idle to about 1100 rpm. So i took a screwdriver and put it to my ear in different parts of the motor and the noise was the loudest on ny oil pan. Im not sure what the noise can be beacause i was told if it was a rod knock it would get louder as the rpms increased. Any ideas anyone?
