Default head gasket leak on 96 4.3

I have a 96 4.3 with a bad miss, and periodically hear the old gurgling sound coming from the heater core. I think I may have a leaking head gasket. Has anyone used the liquid glass or similar products or will they screw up my engine. I have 168,000 miles on this truck. I am afraid that the head gasket replacement may be over my head. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The liquid glass I have used does not go in your engine...

I would not recommend any of the pour in remedies for a bad head gasket.

How have you determined that you have a bad head gasket? Have you tested cylinder compression?

Not yet, but all indications point in that direction.
