Default Help me get this device off

Help me remove this device...if I really need to take it off. 2002 Blazer 4.3L, 144000 miles, W vin. I have a misfire on #4 and the compression is only 80psi, so I am working my way down to remove the RH head so I can inspect the valves. This device is at the rear of the intake manifold. I am trying to attach a photo (I am a newbe to this forum). It looks to me like I need to remove this in order to proceed. Any help appreciated!! Joe

There is a good picture how to on the handymanlyness website. I know, I know, there are some things on there that aren't recommended. But, as far as removing the fuel injector spider harness, I think the pictures are okay...

Thanks TMM214. There is a clip on both sides (under my thumb and on the opposite side. I pulled out on both clips and lifted, but I was afraid to put any more pressure lest I would break something. I will try again. By the way, what is the proper name of this device?

There is a rubber gasket around that pod of wires so you may have to wiggle it back and forth to get it to come out. Don't pull by the wires tho they are what controls your fuel injectors on the spider and if damaged your just going to have another issue to deal with.

Default Thanks everyone!!

The upper intake chamber is off. Now, I am working on the lower. Trying to build up courage to remove the distributor. I want to rotate crank shaft to Top Dead Center before removing the distributor.
