2000 BLAZER ZR2 4.3L AUTOMATIC 93,000 MILES
Okay so I was suppose to leave at 4 am this morning to drive 900 miles back home.
So i like you should before a long trip i changed my oil, i put in 5w30 royal purple and mobil one filter
I also thought that I should install a new cap and rotor, spark plug wires and coil since I've had the parts for two weeks now and thought maybe i would get better gas mileage if i did.
So i put them on and now when i start the car it idles really rough and backfires any time theres a load on it. Idling in neutral it hardly backfired.
I checked all my spark plug wires three times to make sure they weren't crossed.
Now I'm screwed cause i was suppose to drive 900 miles home and be on the raod right now.
i dont have a code scanner and autozone doesn't open until 8 am
anyone have any input????

Is the cap sitting down on the distributor level? Are all of your wires pushed ALL the way onto the terminals on the distributor? I have witnessed plug wires backing off the posts on the distributor due to trapped air...
