High HC at idle

High HC at idle

Hi,
I failed emission test with high HC on idle. Here in Sweden they are testing the values in idle and at 2000rpm, at 2000 the values are OK. They said the CO was almost a fail as well. At 2000rpm the values were high at first, then they slowly climb down to within the range of OK.

I have changed oil, oil filter, air filter, sparkplugs and clean the MAF sensor. After that I did the test again with pretty much the same result.

My CAT is rattling when I start the car, after a few minutes its quiet again. I think it smokes white a bit too much, but it’s hard to tell now because it’s below zero almost every day.

Could leaking coolant into the cylinders cause these values? I think it takes a little bit of coolant but I’m not sure. I have not owned the car for more than two month.

What should my next step be? There are no codes.
The car is a Blazer LT 1997 4.3 Vortec.

The values are:
CO 0,5
HC 222
Lamda 1,02

I'm a novice, and what little I know is on a 92 S10, the thing is it could be a number of different things that can cause this. If it was throwing codes someone on here might give you a starting point.
