Default I hate to ask this but I'm stuck

I no this has been asked several times But I'm stuck in 4 low . Its a 94 s10 blazer , I had to put it in 4 low to pull it in the shop and like a fool I left it in 4 low before removing the transmission . So I have the new transmission in but the transfercase is stuck in 4 low .When I push the 4 high/2high button it blinks and I hear the clicking under the glove box and The thing on the transfercase tries to engage but it will grind then click back to 4 low . When doing this the truck will jump like its almost in high range. I have read every post on the forum concerning this issue I'm positive its something with in the transfer case . I lost my book and to be honest I don't no what to do next . I have read that you may be able to shift it manully by taking the encoder moter off but it said to use a 8 and a 10 mm wrench to take it off and I looked at mine and don't see nothing . I'm so fusterated right now I can't even think so I hope this makes sense . can I get a picture of what the encoder motor looks like .

The encoder motor is the part that is bolted to the side of the transfer case right next to the front output shaft.

If it is grinding inside, then the gears likely look like this:

You can remove the encoder motor and manually move the shift sector shaft. I don't have a picture of the encoder motor though, sorry.

Ok awesome thank you I was thinking that it was the round thing on the bottom of the transfer case . So is the encoder motor the thing that the wires go into with the bolt through the middle of it . Thank you again I'll try removing that and see what it looks like .

Yeah, the round black plastic housing is part of the encoder motor. The bolts will be on the driver side of the transfer case pointing towards the passenger side. You may have to remove the front driveshaft to get the encoder motor off.

Yea with this new transmission I wasn't able to put the front drive shaft on anyway . It hits the transmission cross member , but Im going out to the shop right now to see if I can get the endoder motor off and manully shift it into 2 high . I did do more research on google last night and found pictures of the hole process . But again thank you for your time and help .

Ok I did get the encoder motor out and I put my 5/8 wrench on it and I can get neutral and low it won't budge other than that . I tried to turn the drive shaft but that didn't help . Do you think my transfer case went bad ? I was thinking of going and getting the transfur case from the olds bravada anyway to see if it made a difference with my front drive shaft hitting the cross member and the cross member to . I really don't understand whats going on here , what a headache but I will figure this out eventully .

the bravada's AWD, not selectable 4wd. Don't do it, you'll regret it. For one, every time you buy new tires you'll have to buy 4 instead of 2. For two, the AWD transfer case in the bravada's a pile of junk.

Did you try tapping on the wrench with a rubber mallet for some added persuasion?

My uncle's transfer case felt like this when I replaced his encoder motor. Come to find out that it was completely dry; no fluid! I was able to get it loosened up and the new encoder is working good for him.

You really need to get the adapter from your old transmission to get your transfer case back in the right position!
