1995 Chevy Blazer 4.3 Vortec 2WD.
While driving I had been smelling gas coming from the rear inside the blazer. On the outside, I didnt smell any gas under the hood, but i could smell gas around the driver side rear wheel well. A smog technician told me if I had a leak somewhere in the EVAP System that it would throw a trouble code. I didn't have any check engine light on so I figured maybe I had a leak on the fuel pump, but couldn't see anything wet or dripping anywhere. I had fallowed the EVAP diagram under the hood and I noticed the EVAP canister purge hose was just laying there disconnected. After I connected it, the gas smell went away completely. Why didn't the check engine light go on when it was disconnected? Is the EVAP System monitored in this year blazer?

I for one, sure am glad this forum is here. Seems like there's always some little trick that I wouldn't be able to figure out on my own. Having this wealth of knowledge at my finger tips is priceless!
