Default Jolting at 60 mph

So I am driving home from work today w/ the cruise set at 60 and all of a sudden intermitently the whole truck starts jumping/jolting. then it went away. And for the remainder of the ride 10 miles ish it did it every so often, I would say once or twice a mile. Mind you I was not accelerating or anything just cruising. It feels almost like the transmission is missing and then imediatly catching again. Is there anything I can do before I take it in. I have an extended warrenty, but we all know how those can be. What are the chances that it really is going to be covered if I do take it in?

Did you happen to catch what the RPMs were doing when it was jolting? Have you checked the tranny fluid level?

I had the same kinda prob in one of my other cars, It turned out there was a pin hole in the diaphragm of the cruise control..when the vacuum was changing it would affect the cruise..

I would take it to Autozone to seeif there are any codes. Also if you descreened your MAF then that is your problem. I had the same problem at the same speed on my truck when it was brand new and realized it was because the MAF screen was not there. I got a new MAF and haven't had the problem since.

No, I have not taken off the MAF screen, butI do have a new AIRAID CAI but all that did was replace the box. The truck was not in 4hi either. I drove to work and back today (40 miles round trip) and it drove just fine. I put the cruise control on, I set it at diff speeds, I drove slow I drove fast and could not get the problem to repeat. Could it possibly be something to do with the fuel system or plugs? I have been putting off changing the wires cap and plugs, due to lack of time. I have not changed anything out in the truck since owning it for over a year other than oil and having the cooling system pressure flushed. I appreciate all the feedback. Thanks guys!
