Default just found a gm reman tag on engine

i was wondering what i could find out by running the serial numbers on it. the info on it states that the engine is bored .020 over, and the rods and crank are .010 under, and was rebuilt 3/17/98. theres a few serial numbers and such. would i be able to go to a dealership with this info and find out if this engine belonged in my truck to begin with, and what the mileage was? the PO told me the engine was replaced with a low mileage engine from a wrecked blazer. i know the vin on the ecm doesnt match my vin, and ive replaced the trans now since purchasing the truck
