Default Leaking intake manifold?

Hey gang first time posting but have used this forum a number of times for information and for that I thank you. I have a 2000 chevy blazer 4wd with 163000 miles on it. My question does the motors in these trucks have an issue with intake manifolds leaking coolant? I have notice coolant on top of the manifold, have been loosing coolant for awhile now with no noticeable puddles under the car, no trace of water in the oil either.Thank you for you help.

Yup, VERY common problem for the OEM gaskets to leak. If you use the Felpro MS98002T gasket set, clean the gasket surfaces, chase the threads on the bolts and in the heads, use a medium strength thread locker on the bolts and follow the tightening sequence and torque procedure, they will not leak.

Make sure you adjust camshaft retard after you reinstall the distributor, (part of the job). It requires a scan tool capable of viewing streaming camshaft retard data.

Is this the same part number kit for the 94 4.3 Vin W as well?

Jay, 94 W intake gasket is MS95832, different design and waaaay cheaper.

Don, It requires a "high end" scan tool, the $500 el cheapo ones that the auto parts stores use will not access it.

Thanks so much. Does the adjusting of cam retard apply to the 94?

No. Camshaft retard is only on late production 95 W engines with EDI ignition, and all 1996 and newer W and X engines.
