Will an automatic transmission from a 1993 (small) Blazer 4.6 lit. bolt up to a 1996(small) Blazer 4.6 lit. I know it may seem like a stupid question but you never know, it only takes one little difference for it to not work Thanks

 

They are 4.3 liter and yes they will bolt up but they are not interchangeable due to internal electronic and vacuum controls. If you are trying to find a trans fit a 96 it must come from a 96-97 or you will have no way to control the trans.

 

yep,93-94,and 96-97 is 2 different setups. computers are different.

 

To piggyback on this, are there any transmissions out there which would work, but are perhaps more heavy duty than the stock 4speed? Could one be taken out of a 96-97 1/2 ton chevy, bolt up and have the computer recognize it, or is that impossible?
