little black box

Has anyone else noticed the little black box thing on the shifter side of the tranny? The shift cable actually bolts to it. I have the 95 blazer and i was thinkin maybe the "box" needed to be adjusted to get all gears. Is this possible to adjust?

ok i just found out the black box i was talkin about is the nuetral safety switch
