Default This look normal for a young engine?

Let me start off by saying im SUPER paranoid when it comes to vehicles. I bout this a mounth ago after owning my 2000 blazer with 245k miles.

Well this is a 2003 and i dont trust it! I dont feel like i can take it anywhere without being paranoid. I think i may have a cloged or semi clogged cat. But thats for another thread.

This topic is about my engine. In this pic there is a build of gunk around the gasket that i rubbed off with my finger earlyer today. I went to lunch, across the street, then came back, lifted my hood to look around and saw a bead of what i thought was oil that was about to drip so i put my figner there and it turned out to be water.

So that got me paranoid of course cause I planned on driving about an hour away today. When i drove home from work which is only a 10 min drive at about 90degrees out today i checked again, then took the pic. as you can see, no dribble.

So does it look ok? My oil and coolant look great. The water pump and radiator was replaced before I paid for the vehicle.

Maybe i just need you folks to ease my mind?

Geez i see how its hard to see whats what haha.

To answer your question...yes? This is the front of the engine, right in front of the fan. To the right is the a/c compressor(?)

The top right corner, is the black plastic intake manifold.
