93 & 97 use two totally different fuel delivery systems and computer controls, with totally different diagnostic & repair procedures along with different specifications.

Fuel pressure and leakdown should be the first thing to check on both systems. It's free and it only takes about 15 minutes. It's a comprehensive test, (covers several components) and the results will tell if the fuel delivery system is working properly. On your 1993 (W engine code) CMFI system: ignition on, engine off, fuel pump running, pressure must be 55psi to 61psi and must remain above 50psi for at least 10 minutes after the pump shuts off.
