Default Missing power at about 70mls on German Autobahn

Hello Folks,

I am driving an Blazer 1997 4.3V6 autmatic transmission in Germany. I have now 209000 Km on the clock which is 130k mls. I noticed my problem when i started to drive to work on the German Autobahn. I have to go with the traffic and the average speed is 70 to 100mls.

By the way i have a Tech2 and donīt see any codes setted.

I have realized when I am driving 70mls @2500rpm on overdrive and I am pressing full throttle it is shifting down to 3rd gear and the engine revs up to
3500rpm with a lot of noise but then the is a little acceleration.
I hardly gain speed.

Is this normal for a Blazer. Am I expecting to much. I have new plugs wires
etc. Well maintained.

No Blazer here to benchmark.

Any ID or proposals?

Be curious to watch this thread - Noticed that mine seems to have the most power at 3000RPM. Higher than this and you don't seem to gain much power.

My first thought is a slipping transmission, but I hate to think I might need a transmission in mine. Hopefully that's just how they are.

hard to say, but i have seen this topic brought up before mostly with the older s10s, its usually people who are towing and/or driving 80mph and the transmission keeps hunting for the gear, mostly cause of the underpowered engine.

I had my transmission fully rebuild 10.000km ago.
My Tech2 is not setting codes of a slipping transmission.

mostly cause of the underpowered engine
sounds like we need a v8 swap then...

t happens istantly.

I have checked Filters before.

My assumption was a mechanical fault which is not setting codes on the
EGR Valve. For me it was closed for a long time and the engine was missing
air. Now it the valve I have had some blowby oil sitting and when it suddenly
opend all of it went into the intake.

Can that be the reason for my missing power sympton?
