whats the most you ever got out of a 2.8? i have a rotted out turd 85 s10 that has 87XXX on the odometer and was wondering if it went around but most people have told me those engines never 100,000. truck runs great, i wouldnt hesitate to drive it cross country... bringing a bunch of tools with of course

 

My friends part getter was an old man who used to travel the states upon losing his family. He bought it 2 years ago. And it just rolled 362K I'll get a picture.

 

my 87 blazer DD just died back in sept with the original engine. I'm 2nd owner of it and bought it off my mom so I know what all was and has been done to it. 1,258,510 personally seen it roll over when I was a teenager and mom still had it. Was running strong with blow back like crazy and the only thing that killed it was the pickup tube fell out of the oil pump. At least thats the only problem I could find when I took the parts off it I needed for my 3.4 swap.

 

a million on a 2.8? thats crazy. yeah i have a lot of blowby i just seen. took my air filter off after 50 miles on the highway and there was a bit of oil. i just put a bigger mesh filter where the hose attaches to try to stop a little bit of the oil.
