The pictures say everything for some reason my 04 Blazer with the 4.3l destroyed the catalytic not even a year old. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense air fuel is next to perfect and for some reason the front chamber of the catalytic came apart. Only thing I can think is maybe the 02s are not reading correctly but what are the odds of both of them being bad.

New catalytic converter on its way. Since I purchased it through Amazon they warranted it no questions asked told me to throw the old one away.

Good deal on the Amazon replacement. Make sure to correct any cause of the failure:

Rich fuel mixture
Oil in the exhaust
Coolant in the exhaust
Excessive physical abuse (pot holes, bad roads, etc)

Exhaust is clean no oil no coolant and the air fuel for a long term is excellent + - 2. Only thing I can think of if maybe the O2 sensors are starting to fail they are the original OEM. And there's no air leaks to cause a lean condition. Right now I put a pipe in place of the catalytic with the long-term air fuel being + - 2 the tailpipe smells a bit on the rich side that's why I'm leaning towards the O2's not reading correctly. I just replaced a fuel pump the old one was dropping pressure to about 30PSI and caused a lean condition I wonder if it damaged the O2 sensors they are 18 years old. I ordered 3 new Denso 02 sensors that what was in there from GM but I'm wondering if I'm getting GM quality since everything is now made in China. LOL.

You have to add long-term and short term fuel trims together mindful of sign for any given bank.
