I seriously doubt you'll find any place that rents a scan tool that will access camshaft retard. The auto parts stores certainly don't use them to scan for DTC's. Not 100% certain, but I believe this will access it: AutoEnginuity It requires a laptop or PC and some hardware. Ebay has some decent used stand alone scan tools starting around $1500. Snapon Solus, Solus Pro, and Modis, will all access it but, annual software updates are $1K and only available through Snapon. Or you can take the vehicle to a shop and have them do it for about one hour labor

P1345 must not be in memory before checking and adjusting camshaft retard.
