Default Buying another blazer... Need help with engine questiion

My brothers gonna sell me his 93 or 94 Blazer with 105k on the 4.3 vortec. Is there a way I can fit the vortec on my 88 4.3 engine? If so, what would I have to do. I'm going to say I would definetly need a new throttle cable because the positioning is totally different. Or use the one off the 93-94. Thanks

You'd need all of the engine controls, splicing of wiring harnesses, etc. If you were gonna go through all of the trouble, you'd be better off to toss in a 350 v8.

Wow. More work than I thought... never mind then. Not gonna go to a 350 because I already get 12 mpg.
